3rd Quarter Stretch Goal

What did you learn?

  1. To realize when the black on a transperency is not completely back.
  2. The arms on the screen contraption are different lengths. (lol)
  3. How to effectively adjust the knobs on the screen contraption so it doesn’t take all day to line up screens.
  4. How to use the heat press for vinyl designs.

Why is this learning important to your project? How did it improve the project?

  1. It will save time in the future with trying to spray out screens when we have printed a bad transperency. Also, it will keep us from wasting screens.
  2. Will save time in the future and keep up from wasting screens. (not burning an extra screen when it was really lined up already)
  3. Again, saving time.
  4. The vinyl looks very nice for single color designs and now we know how to do names and numbers on the backs of shirts for future orders.

What resources did you use?

  1. Mr. Updegraff, my group, and the 8th hour group that helped us with the vinyl printing and weeding.
  2. Printing contraption, ink, emulsion, screens, vinyl, heat press, shirts, etc.

The first picture is a screen we had trouble spraying out because the circle was not in complete black on the transperency. This caused the rest of the design to spray out much faster than the circle and caused problems when printing. We have since learned to check the transperency before wasting a screen. The second picture is the shirt that we had to use the vinyl method on. We applied this newly learned method in order to complete the order and it ended up looking better than the ink in my opinion.
