My goal was to finish the APUSH shirts.

This goal is important because the APUSH class has been waiting on them forever and it is helping me learn how to perfectly line up screens and what to change when we have problems lining them up.

I was not successful in my goal. The goal was challenging, especially because of the shortened week. Our goal was not met because we have been having nothing but problems with these screens. First we were having a really hard time getting the screens to line up but now that we finally have, we keep having to clean the screens and doing test prints because either we are not using good technique, or the ink is getting dry when we are not using it. Either way, the shirts haven’t been turning out how they should. However, we did manage to complete a few shirts before we started having printing problems.

This week, I was working on lining up the APUSH screens and started printing.

Next week, I am going to focus on finishing printing.

I don’t need help with anything and I don’t need to learn anything new.

My self-assessment of my progress for this week is  an A.

Below is a picture of a completed APUSH shirt.

This week, I was stillll working on the APUSH shirts because the screens weren’t lining up.

Next week, I am going to focus on stillll trying to complete the APUSH shirts.

I don’t need help or to learn anything new.

My self-assessment of my progress for this week is A because I have been working very hard to line up the screens and they wont so we had to print new transparencies and start over. Again.

Below is a picture of the new transparencies Kiersten made with registration marks so it will be easier for us to line up and print the screens.

My goal was to complete the APUSH shirts.

This goal is important and beneficial because the APUSH class has been waiting on them forever and it is helping me learn how to better line up screens and designs that have two colors that line up right next to each other.

I was not successful in my goal because we had a lot of problems along the way.

  • Transperencies- weren’t dark enough which cased problems when spraying out the screens.
  • Design- didn’t line up perfectly since the two colors had to fit right up next to each other.
  • Transperency for the back was late.
  • Had to remake the red screen for the front twice.

I would have known I completed my goal when all the shirts were finished – front and back – but they weren’t because of all of the problems. This goal was very challenging because we were supposed to complete all of the screens and print the fronts and backs of 18 shirts in a short amount of time. However, we did get the white front screen and the back screen ready to go.
